From Mummies to Werewolves poses, how to move, fold, and howl your way through…
Last Wednesday, on October 22nd, I had the incredible opportunity to host a community wellness event at Beach Ball Brewing. The vibes were just right on that crisp October evening with glowing pumpkins, music drifting in the air, and our community ready to move, laugh, and let loose under the October moon!
The brewery buzzed with warmth and anticipation. Costumes peeked out beneath yoga mats and hoodies, and the smell of hops mingled with the scent of fall candles. It was one of those perfect nights where movement, breath, and celebration all blended into something truly special.
Flowing Through the Spooky Sequence
We flowed through a spooky sequence, a Halloween-inspired yoga flow that blended playful poses with just the right touch of eerie fun:
- Mummy Pose (Mountain Pose) We began grounded and strong, channeling our inner ancient spirits and breathing life into stillness.
- Vampire Pose (Crane Pose) Rising from the dark shadows, we found balance, focus, and a little mystery - wings and our capes ready for flight.
- Dead Man’s Fold (Forward Fold) We released tension and let go, folding deep into full and half way holds, surrendering to the silence between beats.
- Werewolf Pose (Downward Dog) Under the moonlight, we stretched, howled, and let our inner wild sides shine…and maybe even let out a little howl.
Between poses came zombie groans, monster roars, and plenty of laughter from everyone who joined. It was a beautiful reminder that yoga doesn’t always have to be serious, sometimes it’s about joy, connection, and letting yourself be a little spooky.
A Magical Ending
We then ended our haunting flow in Corpse Pose, melting into the mat as stillness settled over the room like moonlight on skin. The energy shifted from playful to peaceful - a moment of collective calm after all the laughter and movement.
As our journey came to an end, we slowly opened our eyes. Applause and cheers filled the space as we clinked pint glasses, shared smiles, and soaked in the lingering spirit of Halloween. It felt like a spell of community, one woven from breath, movement, and a shared love for fun.
Happy Halloween to all and thank you for bringing your energy, your laughter, and your spooky spirit. I hope to flow with you soon!
