Cooling Off

A yoga flow perfect for those scorching summer days...

There are seasons that ask us to push.

And there are seasons, like this summer one, that ask us to soften.

Summer invites us to cool the body, slow the breath, and move with more intention. This soft, somatic flow is designed to support your nervous system, release built-up heat, and bring you back to center, without force.

Start seated.

Close your eyes.

Take a slow inhale through your nose…and a longer exhale through your mouth.

Let your breath settle before you move.

Gently release the neck, ear to shoulder, side to side. Roll through the shoulders, slow and easy.

Move into a soft side stretch, creating space through the body without pushing. Then begin a few rounds of Cat–Cow, letting your breath lead each movement.

Shift back into Child’s Pose.

Let this be your reset.

From there, step into a low lunge, keeping it gentle, grounded, and steady. Take a full breath in…and a slow breath out. Switch sides.

Come back down into a seated forward fold. No forcing, just allowing your body to soften where it’s ready.

Finish on your back with a gentle twist, then settle into stillness.

This practice isn’t about doing less, it’s about doing what supports you.

Cooling the body.

Calming the mind.

Creating space where there was tension.

Because even in the heat, you are allowed to soften.
