Grounded and Growing

Working with early spring to feel rooted and renewed...

Early spring carries a subtle promise. The earth is still cool and quiet, yet life is beginning to stir beneath the surface. In yoga, this season invites us to slow down, root deeply, and allow growth to rise organically rather than pushing toward it.

This is a time to focus on grounding when you can really feel the support beneath your feet, the steadiness of your legs, the rhythm of your breath. Practices that emphasize stability create a sense of safety in the body, which is essential before expansion can happen. From that steadiness, energy begins to move upward, naturally and without force.

This mirrors what I explored in From Root to Crown: Understanding Your Chakras. When the lower centers feel supported, when we feel safe, nourished, and connected. When energy flows more freely upward. Growth isn’t something we chase; it’s something that happens when the foundation is strong.

Early spring yoga might feel slower, more intentional. Standing poses, gentle flows, and mindful pauses help us sense where we’re holding back and where we’re ready to open. Emotionally, this season can bring both hope and hesitation. Yoga offers a way to honor, grounding us in the present while quietly encouraging expansion.

Grounded and growing means trusting the process. Let yourself be rooted before you reach. Let growth rise from stability, not urgency. Just like spring, you don’t need to bloom all at once.
