Finding balance as light and darkness meet...
There’s a quiet moment in the year when light and dark pause in equal measure. Neither rushing ahead, nor pulling back. This balance isn’t something to conquer or perfect, it’s something to notice, to feel, to live inside of for a breath or two.
In our bodies, light often shows up as energy, motivation, movement. Darkness can feel like rest, reflection, or the tender places we don’t always want to linger with. Yoga invites us to honor both. The steady inhale and the soft exhale. The effort and the ease. The stretch and the release.
When we allow light and dark to coexist, something settles. We stop forcing ourselves to be “on” all the time. We stop judging the slower seasons as wrong or unproductive. Instead, we begin to listen. What does the body need today, more or less, fire or more softness? More expansion or more grounding?
On the mat, this balance might look like moving with intention, then pausing in stillness. Letting sensation rise without needing to fix it. Trusting that clarity often comes not from pushing forward, but from staying present with what is.
Off the mat, it’s the same practice. Meeting yourself where you are. Honoring the fullness of your experience. Remembering that balance isn’t static but a gentle, ongoing dance.
May you find steadiness in the in-between, and permission to be whole just as you are.
